The system is supplied with The I/O Port Tempsuit, chest with pump, timer, fittings, wire connectors and enough hose and wire to mount the components almost anywhere in the vehicle.
The cooling system consists of, depending on application, either a 16-qt. or 8-qt. ice chest with a built-in pump. Having the pump built into the chest greatly eases installation as only the chest needs to be secured. The pump is a vane type which can run with no flow, or even dry if necessary, without damage. This greatly reduces one of the most common causes of failure in other cool suit systems. Current draw is less than 3 amps; and since the pump is cycled and the current draw time is only 15 seconds, energy use is minimal. In the 16-qt. chest the ice load will last up to 4 hours, depending on cooling line insulation, chest location and heat load. Smaller or larger chests can also be supplied for different race lengths or needs.
The I/O Port Tempsuit is a deluxe hooded vest made from a loose-knit cotton fabric with a soft inner liner. This construction allows the suit to breath easily and protects the tubing from damage. The suit hood has a small chin strap which keeps the hood in place when donning a head sock or helmet. The strap also keeps the cooling tubing against the back of the neck which is a major cooling area of the body. The chin strap and the vest front are fastened by Velcro to make fastening or unfastening easy. This suit is also available without the hood. The suit is connected to the cooling unit by quick release, brass dry break connectors.
This suit is made to order, allow roughly 2 weeks for manufacture.
