Camera Mounts - Frequently Asked Questions |
|
Which camera mount should I buy?The CM1 camera mount is our most popular. This mount works with tubing from 1-1/4" to 2" in diameter which fits most roll bars and roll cages. You can also bolt this camera mount to a flat surface. The CM2 camera mount is designed for our harness guide bars. Use this mount for 1" diameter tubing only. The CM5 camera mount is designed for remote head cameras mounted to a roll bar or cage. The CMHama is used if you do not have a roll bar, roll cage or harness guide bar to attach to. This mount attaches to the window glass of the car and is not legal for racing. This mount works well for autocross and driving schools where there is no regulations on camera mounts. Do you have a recommendation on a video camera? No. We do not recommend any particular cameras. Will my camcorder fit on your mount? Most camcorders have a tripod mounting nutsert at the bottom of the camera. Our mount uses this nutsert. Does your mount dampen vibrations?Yes. However, as our mount is universal, it may not work for your particular setup. Please see our separate page on dampening vibrations. Can you place the Hama camera mount on the rear window? If your rear window has defogger stripes, then no, the stripes will break the suction. The mounting surface must be clean and smooth. Sometimes a glass sunroof will work, too. Dampen the suction cup with water before mounting. Remount the Hama mount before each day at the track. Does the Hama camera mount dampen vibrations?Yes, this mount does a remarkably good job at dampening vibrations. |
