Fire Extinguishers and Systems

RaceSafe fire extinguisher systems by SafeCraft, Inc. have features incorporated that meet or exceed all sanctioning body requirements. They have been designed using the same materials and techniques that SafeCraft puts into their aircraft extinguishing systems.

The RS model aluminum high-pressure cylinder is U.S. and Canadian DOT approved and is capable of being refilled by an authorized distributor. (However, we cannot sell Halon systems to Canada. We are able to sell the AFFF systems, call us for details.) The discharge head is machined from billet aluminum and is designed to be actuated by pull cable, push knob or pneumatic activation without changing the head. The extinguisher is capable of accepting up to three separate discharge lines. This allows installation flexibility currently not found in other racing fire extinguisher systems. All RS model systems are available in brushed or polished finish. RaceSafe extinguisher systems are available in 3, 5, 10, and 20 pound Halon capacity with other EPA/SNAP agents available. Because of SafeCraft's extensive involvement in aircraft fire systems for both commercial and military aircraft, all of the Halon agent is recycled to the original military specification and confirmed by an independent laboratory. This assures you that each extinguisher system is the highest quality with outstanding dependability.

Amerex Fire Extinguishers – These 2½# hand-held fire extinguishers, which use siliconized Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda), are quality built and come with a metal nozzle, gauge and single strap metal bracket. The handy extinguishers are also great for home, garage, car, boat or trailer. Although we would much rather sell a Halon or Halon-substitute extinguisher, at the time of this printing no one is offering an approved substitute. Therefore, this dry-chemical extinguisher is the best for the purpose. Do not be fooled by companies selling more expensive Purple-K or Monoammonium Phosphate ABC extinguishers. These chemicals are not as good for the job at hand and are more caustic to the engine parts. Clean up after use is easier because the chemical by nature does not bake to a hot surface. The Sodium Bicarbonate dry chemical is also non-toxic. For now, barring Halon, this is our best recommendation for a hand-held extinguisher. Rated 10B:C.

Amerex Halon 1211 Fire Extinguishers – We have been able to secure a limited number of 2½# Halon fire extinguishers (not shown). If you want the best in fire extinguishing agent, this is the extinguisher for you! Comes with a Double Strap metal bracket. Rated 5B:C.
