Hama Video Camera Mount - Instructions

When correctly handled, the support can be mounted on all smooth flat surfaces. Read these instructions thoroughly so that the camera and mount will not be inadvertently damaged.

Preparations

  • The surface on which the mount is to be fastened (glass, plastic, etc.) as well as the underside of the suction plate, should be cleaned.
  • On very uneven or curved surfaces, a trouble-free mounting cannot be guaranteed.
  • Fastening the stand on the inside of your car's rear window is only possible when the heating wires are integrated into the glass, such as in compound glass windows. For perfect adhesion, however, make sure that the heating is turned off.
  • We therefore recommend to additionally use the lateral safety cord and/or a secondary strap (not supplied) to tether the mount. This will prevent or reduce damage to both camera and mount in case of improper attachment. Also, be sure to tether the mount so that the assembly can not strike the driver in case of an accident.

Securing and Aligning the Mount and Camera

  • When mounting on a vertical or slanting surface (as in an automobile), both feet of the suction plate mounting must point downward.
  • Press the suction plate against the cleaned surface. Additionally press the loosened clamping lever against the surface and then flip it over.
  • The camera can be aligned by loosening both knurled rings on the joints.
  • There are slits and holes in the camera mounting plate for the camera mounting screw. They enable the camera to be mounted in every desired position.
  • To remove the mount from the surface on which it is mounted, support the camera and mount against falling, release the orange clamping lever and pull on the flap of the suction plate.
  • Important! Some car models have an extremely sloping windscreen which does not allow fixing a video camera mount on it. In such a case, the mount should be placed on the co-driver's side window. You can then film through the front windshield using even a large-size video camera. For reasons of safety, the camera should always be operated by the co-driver when the car is in motion.

Attention! If the camera support is mounted in a car, make sure that it is not close to a person, as this may cause injuries during an accident or sharp braking.

On multiple-day events, be sure to take the mount off overnight and reposition the next day following the above guidelines. We recommend wetting the suction cup when applying.
