This seat back brace is designed for composite seats: fiberglass, carbon fiber, Kevlar and the like. No drilling of the seat required.

The I/O Port Racing Supplies Seat Back Brace has met with approval by PCA, NASA, BMW CCA and other sanctioning body's scrutineers. This new updated aluminum kit is designed NOT to bolt to the back of the seat as our other braces do. Tabs are included to be welded to the shoulder harness bar.

The unique tabs will fit roll bar tubing from 1-½" to 1-¾" in diameter without modification. Other size tubing would require some grinding. Our brace adjusts from 1.5" up to 12.5" from the shoulder harness bar. The brace is ideal for permanently mounted seats. (For multi-driver cars, see our quick adjust brace, SBB2.) The plate behind the back of the seat is approximately 33 square inches. This brace can be used with just about any composite seat but have been tested on the seats in the list below..

PCA, NASA, BMW CCA Club Racing all require such braces on all non-FIA-rated seats. Please note: the design of the brace does not require you to drill holes in the back of the seat to attach the bracket. Drilling holes and attaching a brace to a composite seat may void the seat warranty and/or the FIA-rating. Check with your seat manufacturer and sanctioning body rules.
